We make houses fly
Tired of flooding? We lift slab-on-grade homes in 1 piece, set them on a new foundation above the flood line and reconnect everything so you can move back in.
Who should consider elevating
- Homes that have flooded more than once, or flooded badly in a single storm
- Homes in a high-risk flood zone with rising flood insurance premiums
- Owners who have been approved, or want to apply, for a flood mitigation grant
- Homes that were substantially damaged and must meet current flood rules to be rebuilt
- Owners who love their home and street and would rather stay than sell
How it works, in short
We cut the house free from the ground, slide steel beams under the slab, and lift the whole house with a unified hydraulic jacking system so it rises evenly. It is held on cribbing while the new foundation is built underneath, then set down, connected and finished. Read the detail on slab-on-grade elevation and the full process and timeline.
What changes when your house goes up
| Item | What we do |
|---|---|
| Utilities | Plumbing, sewer, gas and electrical are disconnected before the lift and reconnected and inspected after. |
| Stairs and access | New stairs, landings and, where needed, a ramp or lift for access. |
| AC and equipment | Condensers and other equipment raised onto platforms above flood level. |
| Ground level | Open space for parking and storage, or enclosed with flood vents where the rules allow. |
| Driveway and garage | Reworked to suit the new height. Attached garages may become parking under the house. |
Cost
Typical elevation projects cost $150,000 to $250,000 or more. Lift height, house size and weight, the foundation type required, access to the site and the stairs and finishes you choose all move the price. See the full house elevation cost guide.
Paying for it: grants and insurance
Some homeowners use public flood mitigation programs or flood insurance benefits to help pay for elevation. These programs have their own rules, timelines and approved lists. We explain how they work in plain words on our flood grants and funding page. Already approved for a grant? Tell us when you call, and we'll talk you through the next steps.
Elevate, then remodel
Because we also remodel kitchens and bathrooms and build new homes, we can lift your house and then rebuild the inside, under 1 contract and 1 fixed price.
Where we do this work

Questions we get asked
How high can you lift a house?
We have elevated slab-on-grade homes from 6 ft up to 18 ft. The height you need depends on your flood zone, the required flood elevation and how you want to use the space below.
How much does it cost to elevate a house in Houston?
Typical projects cost $150,000 to $250,000 or more. We give you a fixed written price after a site visit and survey.
Can you lift a house that sits on a slab?
Yes. We lift slab-on-grade homes in 1 piece, with the slab attached, and build a new foundation underneath.
How long do I have to move out?
Plan on being out of the home for the lift, foundation and reconnection stages, often 2 to 4 months. We confirm the schedule with your price.
Will elevating my house lower my flood insurance?
Often it can, because premiums depend on how high your lowest floor is above the flood level. Your agent prices the policy; we provide the elevation certificate details they need.
Are you a FEMA-approved contractor?
Grant programs are run by local and state agencies with their own contractor rules. We explain how they work and will confirm our status for your program when you call.
